My first pair of knitted socks!! Needless to say, knitting has become my favorite quarantine hobby, and I’m so grateful for it. In the last few months, I’ve really had to push myself to maintain my interests (running, reading, podcasts, etc.), sometimes without much success, so I’m thrilled that I’m passionate about this activity.
I started knitting and crocheting when I was younger, but never made anything more than rectangular swatches or simple pouches. After seeing my mom crochet a market bag a few months ago, I was inspired to pick it up again and dove right in! Soon enough, I was ordering bundles of yarns and wonderfully overwhelmed by this hobby.
Since these were my first pair of knitted socks, I scoured the internet for all sorts of tutorials, from more complicated two-at-a-time setup videos to a simple “how to slip purl-wise.” I’ve included the links that were helpful to me below, in case you’re starting from zero like I was. This pattern is a rough adaptation of one I found online since I wanted to work in a magic loop, two-at-a-time. I will continue to update it with accurate information, so it’s a work in progress. Anyhoo, happy knitting!
