Life has been busy busy busy. The past two months have been my most successful of the year, and I’m feeling much more secure in my new career. I’m meeting new people, building relationships, expanding my network in the city, and continuing to show up for myself in this business. Looking back, I’m so glad I didn’t let fear or uncertainty hold me back. The grass really is greener!!

Even with work ramping up, I’ve managed to keep my daily schedule flexible. Aside from tour appointments, which average maybe one a day, the rest of my time is my own. Over the past several months, I’ve been taking on one of the biggest projects of my life: reclaiming possession of my property (more on that later). Since January, much of my free time has been spent planning designs, navigating the city permitting process, browsing contractor supply stores, and even helping out as an apprentice on the job site. This past month, I’ve tried to be there as much as possible—learning hands-on skills while working remotely and slipping away for any appointments I have. As I’ve scaled my work and business while juggling this home project, I’ve stepped back from some social commitments and running. It’s been a nice change of pace during this season of low-volume training.

Now, with fall approaching, my schedule is shifting once again. My workload is starting to lighten just as my fall classes are set to begin next Monday. With Chicago on the horizon in October, I’m ramping up training again. To be honest, it’s been uncomfortable and challenging, especially as I split time between two homes. I’m doing my best to stay accountable while giving myself grace at the same time.

All in all, this year has been productive, dynamic, and very full. I’m grateful for all the different seasons that keep me engaged and growing. And as I transition from one chapter to the next, I’m capping this one off with a quick vacation to Mexico City!
